Why am I dreaming of people I've never seen before?

It's totally normal to dream about strangers . I mean, seriously, how many people do you *actually* know? Like , really *know* ? Probably not that many compared to the number of faces your brain churns out in a night . Its weird , right ? One minute im chatting with someone who looks vaguely familiar but I know I've never met them , the next they're some random dude in a cowboy hat riding a unicorn or something . Its crazy. Makes me wonder whats up with my subconscious sometimes. Last night it was this woman with bright purple hair and she was teaching me how to knit . . . I dont even like knitting ! And the yarn was all glittery. So weird . It's like my brain just pulls faces and situations out of thin air , mixing and matching whatever it finds . Kinda freaky , but also...interesting ? Maybe its just processing stuff, I dunno . I've read somewhere its to do with working through emotions or anxieties or something , you know ? But honestly, sometimes it feels like my brain's just messing with me . Like a really bizarre , surreal TV show , only I'm the star and I dont get a say in the plot . I had this one dream once where I was escaping some kind of crazy robot apocalypse. And my only weapon was a tea cozy . Don't even ask. Its all very random , very odd but it is what it is , you know? I cant really explain it, and its not like I'm losing sleep over it either. It's just... one of life's little mysteries I guess. Makes you think. Hmm, maybe I should look up dream interpretations sometime. Or not . Too much effort . Anyway , yeah , dreaming about strangers , totally normal , apparently.
